Town also offers extended payment options.  Smart Tuition offers a low-cost, flexible way to pay for educational expenses through regularly scheduled payments over a period of 10 months.  There is a late payment charge of 1.5% per month.

Tuition includes the following benefits for all Town families

Early Risers Club:  for families that need to drop off Lower School or N/K students early, the Early Risers Club is free of charge, and opens at 7:30 a.m. 

Complimentary Shuttle Bus to Town from the Lexington Avenue and 77th Street 6 train subway stop (picking up at 7:40 a.m.) to help commuting students. 

Lunch is provided Monday-Thursday for students in grades 1 – 8.  (Nursery 4 and Kindergarten students bring their own lunch and eat in their classrooms.)

Snack is provided every morning for all students. 

School Supplies such as pencils, paper, and art supplies are provided free of charge for all students.  If students are in need of 3-ring notebooks, folders, or other supplies, they should simply let a teacher know.  Town will ensure that all students have the supplies they need for their school work. 

Class Trip Costs (overnight and day trips) completely covered by school.  

MetroCards for students:  Free or reduced-fare MetroCards are available for students.

End of year/Graduation

  • Yearbook complimentary for all students
  • Graduation Fees (i.e. gown rental) covered for all 8th grade students
  • Complimentary DVD of Town Graduation for all 8th graders
  • 8th grade Reception with Parents complimentary for all 8th grade families

Other Student Activities

  • The Upper School “Night of Fun” and other Student Senate events are subsidized so students only pay a very small entry fee (less than $5)

Team Sports:  complimentary uniforms and equipment. 

Uniform Resale Table:  The Uniform Resale Table is a great way to stock up on gently used khakis and physical education uniforms ($1) and blazers ($5) and is open at every Parents’ Association meeting.

  • Customized Payment Schedules for Tuition:  if you are in need of a personalized tuition payment plan option, CFO Freda Gimpel is always happy to have a confidential conversation with you.

Participating in Town Community Events

  • TownFest is complimentary for all families
  • All School Picnic is complimentary for all families
  • Book Fair is complimentary for all families.  If you are concerned about the cost of purchasing books for your children, please feel welcome to have a confidential conversation with a Town administrator.
  • Community Action opportunities (Million Trees Project, Environmental Club, etc.) complimentary for all families.

Important Dates

All applications for 2014-2015 will be considered waitlist applications.  

The online application for 2015-16 will be available Tuesday, September 2, 2014.

Nursery 4 and Seventh Grade will be waitlist grades for 2015-16.
