Applying for Financial Assistance

Overview

Town's current budget for financial assistance is $4.5 million, supporting approximately 25-30% of current students. All financial assistance at Town is need-based. Financial need is defined as the difference between the costs of a school and the family’s ability to pay for these expenses. Many factors, among them income, expenses, assets, debt, and the number of children attending tuition-charging schools, are considered to determine whether there is a demonstrable need for financial assistance.

As these factors constantly shift, families are required to apply for financial assistance every year. The Financial Assistance Committee will only make award determinations for families whose files are complete and whose accounts are current.

We are excited to be partnering with Clarity, a streamlined financial assistance application platform that drastically reduces the amount of time it takes to submit an application by pulling your tax returns directly from the IRS.

While our financial assistance budget is robust, our funds are limited, and therefore we encourage families to apply by the December 1st deadline. Pending availability, the school may accept financial assistance applications after this deadline on a case by case basis. If you have any questions about the process or eligibility, feel free to schedule a confidential conversation with Gary Mui, Director of Finance or Chloë Scott-Giry, Director of Admissions & Enrollment.
